BOST intends to build more than 900 km of transmission network. Aligned with Ghana’s national agenda, the first phase of this build out (the Western roll-out) will be 750 km of buried pipeline from Esiama via Kumasi to Buipe and from Aboadze to Tema, supporting development in the North of Ghana and to provide power for clinker production.

The Eastern Distribution System (EDS) Project focuses on developing and expanding BOST storage and transfer (pipeline and barges) infrastructure in the Eastern corridor of Ghana.

Proposed Construction:

  • New transit depots for Gasoline and Gas Oil at Simpoa (Afram Plains) and Debre
  • Construct of 6-inch pipeline from Debre to Buipe
  • Construct of 12-inch pipeline from APD to Akosombo
  • Procure/construct additional barges to serve Simpoa & Debre/ Buipe

The Company has also assisted the Volta Lake Transport Company (VLTC)to rehabilitate existing Barges and Pusher Boats being used forriver transportation of petroleum products to the North. BOST has also acquired two new barges to transport products to the north in a more economical and efficient manner.

This improvement is being backed by the construction of a Jetty at Debre, a Tug Boat, two more Barges and a pipeline from Debre to Buipe.
